is it possible to use another GenAI development tools like Kiro Cli (former Amazon Q developer) instead of Claude Code or Gemini Cli

My favor gen ai coding tool of the moment is kiro cli :https://kiro.dev/cli/ which in pro+ plan the limitation is better compare to Claude Code with the same LLM Model Claude Sonnet 4.5, is it possible to use another GenAI development tools like Kiro Cli (former Amazon Q developer) instead of Claude Code or Gemini Cli?
Of course I will adapt kiro cli to use as MCP client to call MCP Raindrop, I can also create a pull request to update documentation later

It’s definitely possible to use Kiro CLI instead of Claude Code or Gemini CLI, especially if you prefer its workflow and feature set. Kiro’s spec-driven approach and support for advanced LLMs like Claude Sonnet 4.5 make it a strong alternative, particularly for structured coding tasks and larger projects. I like that it allows integration with external systems like MCP Raindrop, giving more flexibility to adapt it as a development client.

The main trade-offs are the slightly higher overhead for defining specs and workflows, and making sure your project fits within the CLI’s performance limits and plan quotas. But for anyone looking for a more maintainable, agent-driven coding setup, Kiro CLI can be a great choice. It’s exciting to see how these tools are giving developers multiple options to integrate GenAI into real-world workflows, and contributing to documentation or custom integrations only strengthens the ecosystem.
